Pennycress

$4.00

Pennycress is one of those quiet workhorse fillers we always make room for in the field. Its soft green stems are covered in round, coin-shaped pods that add movement, texture, and an easy garden feel to bouquets. It pairs beautifully with just about everything and is especially lovely in spring arrangements.

We love pennycress both fresh and dried. Fresh, it brings a light, airy green that fills space without stealing the show. Dried, the pods take on a warm, natural tone that works well in wreaths and everlasting designs.

Packet size: approximately 50 seeds

Growing Tips

  • Light: Full sun
    Soil: Well-drained soil
Planting: Direct sow outdoors in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked
    • Lightly press seeds into the soil — they don’t need much covering
    Spacing: About 4–6 inches apart
Succession sowing: Plant every couple of weeks for a longer harvest window

Plants grow tall and branch naturally, so there’s no need to pinch.
