Marigold Sweatshirt
🌼 The Marigold Sweatshirt
Wear it soft. Wear it strong. Be a Marigold.
Our Marigold Sweatshirt is one of those pieces you’ll reach for again and again. It’s a softly faded green with that perfectly worn-in feel — incredibly soft, cozy, and intentionally loose fitting for easy everyday wear. This is comfort you can live in, without sacrificing craftsmanship.
What makes it extra special? The marigold pattern is hand selected and hand stitched in Big Rapids by a locally woman-owned business. Stitched by Whit brings this sweatshirt to life with top-notch stitching and incredible attention to detail. Every piece feels thoughtful, slow-made, and truly special.
This sweatshirt was designed for our Marigolds — the people, the growers, the protectors, the light-bringers.
This sweatshirt is more than something cozy to wear.
It’s a reminder of who you choose to be — in your garden, your community, and your everyday life.
SPECIAL NOTE: BECAUSE THESE ARE MADE TO ORDER, THEY TAKE 1-2 WEEKS TO MAKE. WE WILL CONTACT YOU ONCE THEY ARE DONE FOR YOUR PICK UP OR TO NOTIFY YOU THEY ARE SHIPPING.
🌼 The Meaning Behind the Marigold
We didn’t create the concept, and we didn’t write the words — but once we read The Marigold Effect, we were all in on being a Marigold.
The idea is simple and powerful:
Be a marigold, not a walnut tree.
Marigolds are known in gardens for their natural ability to protect and benefit nearby plants — improving soil health, discouraging pests, and helping everything around them thrive. Walnut trees, on the other hand, release toxins that prevent other plants from growing near them.
The lesson?
Choose to be someone who adds value, protects growth, and creates space for others to flourish — and stay far away from environments or people that drain, poison, or stunt growth.
I heard about the Marigold Effect again while listening to The Dirt on Flowers, and it felt like one of those moments you’re meant to share. I immediately thought of my Marigold, Libby.
🌼 What Being a Marigold Means to Ayla
Being a Marigold means:
Being truly yourself
Adding benefit to those around you
Lifting people up and protecting them
Drawing in other positive, grounded humans
It’s about resilience — being strong and soft.
About rising from dark seasons stronger than before.
About knowing your boundaries and not allowing toxicity to ruin your spirit.
It’s being fully comfortable with who you are, without comparison.
🌼 What Being a Marigold Means to Libby
To Libby, being a Marigold means:
Being a positive influence
Choosing kindness, optimism, and generosity
Create safe spaces for people to feel seen and comfortable being themselves.
Encourage growth, uplift and celebrate others wins
It also means intentionally avoiding toxicity, cynicism, and competitiveness — because those things stunt growth. Being a marigold is about choosing to bloom fully and inviting others to bloom with you.
