Champagne Bubbles Poppy Blend
Champagne Bubbles poppies are a soft, romantic Icelandic type poppy that thrives in cooler temperatures. They are especially well suited for early season planting, but when direct seeded, they will continue to emerge and bloom throughout the season.
Blooms appear in the softest pinks, with occasional pops of tangerine and grapefruit sprinkled throughout. These poppies are a wonderful choice for landscapes and gardens, adding lightness and movement wherever they are planted.
They are a great pollinator flower, attracting bees and other beneficial insects. While they do not have a long vase life, watching the blooms open in a vase is part of their beauty. After flowering, the seed pods can be used to add texture and interest to arrangements.
If allowed to mature and go to seed, Champagne Bubbles poppies will readily reseed themselves, returning year after year with even more charm.
Packet size: approximately 100 seeds
Growing Tips
Sowing: For best results, direct seed outdoors in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked and temperatures are cool (below about 70°F). Surface sow seeds and cover very lightly with soil or mix them with clean sand to help distribute small seeds evenly. Iceland poppy seeds need light to germinate and should not be buried deeply.
Germination: Seeds typically emerge in about 7–14 days when soil temperatures are around 65–70°F.
Spacing: Thin seedlings to about 6–12 inches apart in full sun.
Soil: They prefer moist, well‑drained soil and full sun.
Transplanting: (not recommended) If you choose to start indoors, sow very lightly and keep the soil evenly moist; transplant carefully after all danger of frost has passed, but know that many growers recommend direct sowing instead.
Bloom time: Expect blooms from late spring into early summer, with approximately 85–100 days to maturity from seed.
Plant in beds, borders, or containers where you can enjoy the flowers and their pollinator‑friendly presence.
